"Peace versus justice? The dilemma of transitional
justice in Africa" co-edited by CCRJ Scholar Chandra Sriram has been
included in the list of "Outstanding Academic Titles" for 2011 by
CHOICE, a review of the American Library Association.
Leslie Vinjamuri, CCRJ co-Director, is participating in the
Social Science Research Council's workshop on Religion,
Peacebuilding and Development and will be speaking about "New Research in
Transitional Justice" at Columbia University.

Phil Clark hosted a symposium in Oxford under the title "Sudan in Transition? Southern Independence, Conflict and Reconciliation". The symposium assembled experts from multiple disciplines to discuss the ramifications of the South Sudan independence referendum. Click here for a podcast.
CCRJ is working with scholars at
George Washington University and the University of Toronto
on "Mapping Humanitarianism", a multi-year project which will
map change in the Humanitarian system via analysis of disasters,
networks and organizations.
CCRJ has launched its Research
Associates Scheme for scholars and practitioners conducting CCRJ-relevant

CCRJ has received a grant to develop its programs on Faith
and Secularism in Contestation. This program will look at the different conceptions
of rights and justice embodied in a range of different faiths and embraced by
secular states, NGOs, faith-based actors, and international organisations.
It has also received a grant under the program headings Global Human Rights and Transitional Justice to develop work on the comparative politics of genocide, focusing in particular on Cambodia, Rwanda and Bosnia.
