Currently, she is pursuing a major research project on the evolution and impact of accountability for mass atrocities in conflict and post-conflict states. She also is leading research projects on the role of faith in transitional justice and humanitarianism, and on the International Criminal Court. Her articles have appeared in leading journals including International Security , Ethics and International Affairs , Survival, and the Annual Review of Political Science. She is a regular speaker on the politics of transitional justice. Dr. Vinjamuri is a founding co-Chair of the London Transitional Justice Network and is on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Transitional Justice.
Prior to joining SOAS, Dr. Vinjamuri was on the faculty of the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. She has been a fellow at Harvard University's John M. Olin Institute for Strategic Studies and at the Centre for the Study of Human Rights and Centre for International Studies, both at the London School of Economics. Dr Vinjamuri has served as a consultant to the Ford Foundation, the Open Society Institute, the International Law Institute, and the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue. She previously worked at Congressional Research Service and at the U.S. Agency for International Development. She received her Ph.D. from Columbia University.
